明けましておめでとうございます
Happy New Year Crusaders!
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone that voted in the club election at the end of last year. It is a real honour to be elected President. I have some big shoes to fill, literally and metaphorically, but I will do my best to continue with the excellent work that Tom Cocks has done before me.
Tom has been a rock-solid member of the club and the committee over the past 7 years. Thank you for all the effort you have poured into helping keep the club running. I will miss you as a team-mate and a friend. Everyone at the club wishes you and Laura the best of luck for the future – and we look forward to a guest appearance on tour!
I would also like to welcome Brendan Gallagher to the Crusaders Committee, he will be taking the lead as our new Sponsorship Secretary. Thank you for taking on this role, we are looking forward to working with you over the season ahead.
It is a challenging time to keep things running at the club with COVID locking down social events and games for the team. But rest assured, the committee are working hard to set up social(ly distanced) events. We will be having another Zoom nomikai, socially distanced training sessions, and the calendar highlight, the Cru Pub Quiz, will be going online.
We are also working on setting up events to take place over the summer to make up for the winter slowdown (COVID depending!). Keep an eye out for news on the resurgence of the Meat Cup & BBQ (not being held in rainy season this year), and a domestic rugby tour!
