It was a fruitful season for the Cru, moving up in the Tokyo Cup as well as making waves along the way. This was only possible via the efforts of many players and club members. Below are those who received awards for 2019.
Sean “Gibbo” Gibson took home Clubman Of The Year for his distinguished service as team manager and much more.
Presented by Representative Referee, Mr. Yuichi Okutomi, the first recipients of player awards were as follows:
Best Newcomer – Yoriaki Sugimoto*
Golden Boot – Suguru Matsumoto*
Most Tries – Dominic Sumner
Most Minutes On The Pitch – Matt Sparrow
Most Positions – Matt Sparrow
Biggest Hits – Yong Park
Best Excrement Expatiator – Chris O Sullivan
Congratulations to all the lads who took home awards! (Not Pictured*)
Up next was the Captain’s Award. Junki “Jay” Waeda took home the award.
The Most Improved Award went to Takaaki Onuma.
The Ironman Cru Award was next, and represents what it truly means to be a Crusader. In a twist of fate however, there were two men who met the criteria to receive this award. Both the unrelenting Matt “Captain Jack” Sparrow and Takaaki Onuma took home the award with smiles on their faces.
The final award to be given was the Most Valuable Player award. The recipients were once again split, and Travis Dixon plus Suguru Matsumoto* took home the Most Valuable Player honors for this year.
